It started as a subtle inkling of thought in 1998, as Roger Adams sat watching kids on rollerblades and skate boards zipping up and down the boulevard in California – he figured there had to be a new approach to getting around. Heelys are designed to be comfortable, despite the fact that each shoe houses a wheel in the heel.
