The Skechers brand has its roots in the early 1990s, when Robert Greenberg, the founder of LA Gear shoes, embarked on a new adventure in footwear with his son. Since then, this father-son experiment in casual footwear has grown into a global phenomenon. Today, Skechers offer over 2,000 shoe styles for men, women and kids in a vast selection of department stores and corporate-owned shops around the world.
The Skecher name appears on such a wide variety of shoes for all the family, it is difficult to pin down a particular style associated with the brand. Initial designs were more focused on skaters, but today this simply isn’t the case. Some of the most popular Skechers for women include: the Bikers’ Tickled, Neptune, Bikers Star Studded, Bikers Sasha, Calies and Citywalk Gourmet. Popular Skechers for men include: the Urbantrack Tao, the Citywalk Footpath, the Talus Acropolis and the Studio. For the kids, Skechers offer a solid selection of stylish shoes loosely based on best-selling adult collections.
